What is Reiki ?

Reiki is a word that has been around in Japan for thousands of years and it means miraculous energy. It's the energy that fills the untouched forrest. The original term for Reiki treatment is "Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho" or "Usui Reiki Treatment Method for Improvement of Body and Mind". It is a Japanese healing technique founded and developed by Mr. Mikao Usui, and is has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect.

Put simply, Reiki treatment is facilitated by a practitioner who receives Reiki energy from the Universe, which in turn flows through his/her body. In this way, Reiki practitioners are able to bring the pure energy to reactivate the natural healing process in others. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feeling of peace, security, and well-being. It is effective not only in improving physical and psychological health but also successful in reducing and terminating addictions and bad habits.

Reiki also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote quick recovery.

Reiki is an amazingly simple technique that is not dependent on one's educational background or spiritual development, therefore, is available to everyone.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.

"My decision for taking the Jikiden Reiki training was determined by my prior knowledge and training in the Usui Reiki method and my introduction to the Master Tadao Yamaguchi by his student and translator Mari Okazaki.
In spite of being a level 2 Reiki in the Usui western method I had never felt inspired to move beyond this point in the practice of this healing art form as I felt there was something missing in the vast array of western teachers available to me to advance further. That was until I met Mari and her master teacher.
As a practicing homeopath I align with energy that is clear and pure. Mari embodies this form of pure energy through her practice and teaching of the Jikiden Reiki methods which I find to be the most powerful and direct source of Reiki I have ever encountered. I also believe this is so due to who Mari is as a person, a mother, a wife and a teacher. She is heart centered and is a living example of the Jikiden Reiki philosophy of living with a balanced mind and body.
Mari in time will be known as world class Reiki teacher but in my opinion she is already there. "

"My family and I are immensely grateful to Mari! Her distant reiki healing has been instrumental in the improvement of my Mom’s health condition. About 1 year ago, I noticed that my Mom was wheezing loudly after walking from her home to the car. I spoke with her family doctor who told me this was common among seniors and that he would prescribe an inhaler. Having lost my dad to lung cancer, I insisted that Mom receive further testing and he agreed. Shortly afterwards, I received a call from the doctor telling me to bring Mom to emergency IMMEDIATELY as the x-ray showed her right lung was 2/3 filled with fluid. The doctor at VGH emergency informed us that the fluid was most likely a result of lung cancer. This diagnosis was confirmed by the respirologist a few days later. The fluid continued to build up and had to be drained 3x per week by a nurse who came to Mom’s home. Mom was assigned to an oncologist; however, we didn’t know how long we had to wait before Mom’s first appointment. Therefore, I contacted Mari and she began performing distant reiki healing for Mom twice a week. There were noticeable results immediately!! In the 2 weeks prior to reiki, the average fluid drained each time was 295ml. After Mari's reiki healing began, the amounts drained were: 200ml (Feb 9), 150ml (Feb 12), 80ml (Feb 14). On Feb 15, mom had her first appointment with the oncologist and the silver lining was that being a non-smoking Asian woman, Mom was able to take the one-a-day tablets and didn’t require the more invasive procedures. Mom started taking the medication on Feb 18. On Mar 6, 10ml was drained after an 8 day span. It was determined that draining was no longer required and the drain tube was removed; a nurse indicated that this generally does not occur in such a short timespan. After one year of being on the medication and receiving distant reiki healing twice per week, Mom no longer requires her blood pressure medication as it was causing her blood pressure to be too low!! Bonus!! Thank you, Mari! Words cannot express just how grateful we are that you are sharing your amazing gift with the world!"
